If there was replay in 1971,Oklahoma’s team would be number one. Jeff Kinney, the Nebraska running back, fumbled the ball near the Sooner goal line on the north end of Owen Field in the fourth quarter, which the Sooners recovered. It was mistakenly ruled that his knee was down prior to the fumble. The actual score should have been Oklahoma 31, Nebraska 28. It’s a fact.

I tend to agree that that Tebow is questionable , but, to answer Kyle’s question, I’m pretty sure Tebow’s Heisman (2007) is wherever Tebow keeps the rest of his trophies…..

Though great players, looking back, my guess is that few coaches would take Tebow, Griffin, Walker or Rodgers over Barry Sanders or Gayle Sayres.

Tim Tebow? Really? I’d take Vince Young in that slot any all day.

Florida vs Oklahoma was rather split, but just about the entire media (not naming names, ESPN) had pretty much crowned USC as the national champion. Vince Young showed them California boys how to do that “Texas two-step”.

I agree with Tom, If 71 Nebraska is the number one then 71 OU belongs in the top 10.

That 56 sooner team should have been number one. Bud played his alternate team (2nd string) so much that a handful of sportwriters suggested that OU’s second team was the 2nd best team in America.
