Why in the world would you say that BYU is desperate? If the Big 12 reached out to any non-BCS school in the country, that school would certainly accept. Brigham Young was approached by the Big 12 after A&M made public their intention to defect; their response was, no; not until things stabilize. If they were desperate, they would’ve accepted the offer in late August.

I think OU and Texas are both making a HUGE mistake with all this talk about being content with 10 teams. While every other successful conference is going in the other direction – toward a minimum of 12 with a conference playoff – the Big XII just gets farther and farther behind. As long as it does it will continue to look both puny and weak.

BYU desperate? I don’t think so! We’d like to join a BCS conference, but we’ve found independence quite nice. (Now we just need to find an offense)

Trav, check out the Larry Scott interview on ESPNU tonight. It was very telling. He basically laid out all the reasons why the deal fell through. He also confirmed that the conference members were not interested in just OU and OSU sans Texas.

My school, OU, has disappointed me like no other time. To see my President, Boren waffle and make excuses for either poor negotiating or baffling bluffing is upsetting. Lost alot of respect for Mr. Boren and to me a little bit of OUs shine has been dulled
