Ditto J.G. This guy is going to be a stud in 2 years. Thank goodness because we are so top heavy with Juniors and Seniors. The SEC schools wanted him; that should tell you something. That’s like shooting a hunter because you thought he was an orange deer.

It is what it is. A small linebacker/strong safety. He may work into another position if he has the speed. OU is not a Linebacker school anymore. 2012 is a long way away. Injuries, Recruiting trips, Family, weigh heavily on a young mans mind.
We’ll see what happen’s in Feb. of 2012.

I think the comment by Devin is premature unless he is aware of significantly more than the JT’s brief description. For one thing, it is quite possible that the Sooners are not planning on playing him as a linebacker; it certainly has happend before.

When one comes into college. They are generally about 18-19 years old. That means that they have 25% more to grow physically. They also have a thing called “redshirt”. You guys that have not played football in the upper echilons embarass us with presenting the obvious.

3 things are a given. He has to have great quickness or Bob would not have offered the scholarship. 2nd, He’s got to have speed because there are no slow Sooners. 3rd and most importantly. They need future stars, give Smitty a year and you are looking at a different man. One that is a RS Freshman and knows all the plays. 25 pounds heavier, and inch taller, and much faster. Judging by the description of this player he is a linebacker
who is undersized and wanted by schools who are less than elite programs. I’m not sure why we would want him. Although, his sack total was pretty decent, I suspect he is a player who won’t play a lot of meaningful snaps at OU.
