Clendon Thomas was a Southeast Spartan before he was a Sooner. Great athlete. His jersey and Don Trull’s were in the trophy case in the main hall of the school.

If you were privileged to see the ’56 Sooner team you were watching history. Just like the song written in ’78″More power than a Locomotive, Smoother than a brand new car, Everybody on the Sooner team is a Football Super-Star.” How many players today could play 4 years with a single bar face guard? That give real meaning to “Smash Mouth” football.

Thomas was a pretty cool guy. He came to my highschool back in 1967 and helped coach us for one day. Everybody was impressed.
