The schedule is promising for both OU and OSU. If both teams can go undefeated until bedlam then perhaps the bedlam game will be for a spot in the National Championship Game. What would be better for overall Oklahoma football. Can't wait until December 3 in Stillwater.

When you're paying $1200 for season tickets, you'd rather see the Miami's and Alabama's over the Ball State's and MTSU's. Joe C said we're not going to schedule our opponents timidly and Bob said that we can't be afraid to play with the big boys if we're supposed to be as good as we say. I don't mind one big game and one or two chumps. Too bad we can't have the other major schools agree to always play here for that big one though! We could start scheduling UCO, West Texas, and Langston OOC, but how would we know how good we really were? You can beat up on lesser opponents and look good early in the year, but if you're not as good as you think you'll lose to better teams later in the year. Just ask highly overrated Texas how they fared last year.

A major ingredient to a national championship is scheduling. When we reflect back on 2000, our first three games were UTEP, ARK State and Rice. The rest of the Big 12 schedule didn't hurt the BCS ratings. Since then we've scheduled TCU, Oregon, Alabama, Miami, BYU and now Florida State. Four of those games ended up in losses.

If we are looking for a national championship run, then warm-up games are the ticket before heading into an already tough Big 12 (10) schedule. This year we will be 2 1/2 point favorites at both FSU and OSU. If we lose early at FSU, then the pressure will be off and we would probably run the table. If we win at FSU, then the pressure will be on against Texas, Texas A&M (home) and OSU.

I would like to see opinions on what other fans would like to see in the scheduling. Big games are great, but are they worth the risk?

6 road games. 6 potential loss's. New season. The defense will have to be up to speed early. That's where the bacon is won and the trophy case is filled.

I think it is fine. In fact, I like that there are two home games in a row. I may be able to take the week off and see both. I don't mind driving 800 miles to a home game. Particularly if I can see two (although that is seldom).

This should be a great year for Oklahoma football (including even OSU)!!

I'm a little concerned about Tulsa as an opener. Recent history shows that OU teams have not played well in their first games. It's at home - which is good - but so was Utah State last year. Unless they're playing a total cupcake, it could be more of a game than OU fans are expecting.

I was having mixed feelings about the open date before FSU vs an in conference opponent at home.
FSU plays both weeks before the OU game however the games are cupcakes against Louisiana-Monroe then Charleston Southern.
It may help with "timing" and confidence but when the speedy OU defense shows up it will be disruptive to any confidence they may have obtained.

I think at the end of the day, the bye week for OU will give them plenty of time for game preparation in addition to the offense going up against a great OU defense which should make both sides of the ball sharper than playing an easy opponent.

I think FSU will come in inspired by playing at home with 2 easy wins under their belt. That confidence will vanish quickly once the Sooners get rolling and it will be Deja Vu 2010. A scrambling EJ Manuel may get knocked out of the game. Greg Reid will get burned again. I plan on being there to watch it. Boomer!

FSU. The crowd and team will be ready and vocal, much more than Missouri. Out of Owen field early. Not looking good. Track record in these games is less than .500. A win would be a welcomed supprise.
