They need to reduce timeouts! College basketball games are way too slow! It seems like most of the game is timeouts. They should reduce media timeouts to 3 per half. And if a timeout is called right before a media timeout, that should take place of the media timeout. I can’t stand it when a coach calles a timeout at 12:02 and then there’s a deadball at 11:57 and they have a media timeout. It drives me crazy! They should definitely revise their timeout rules. Also, reduce the shot clock to 30 seconds. That would speed the game up a little more as well. College basketball is fun to watch but it could be so much better if it were sped up. These are great athletes but it seem as if the rules are holding them back!

Rule changes in college basketball are certainly in order because the game is in a world of hurt. The dead ball timeout rule is a must! No other sport on earth allows you to call a timeout because you are at a disadvantage during a game. Don’t stop there. The game has slowed down to a snails pace and needs some excitement. Change the 10 second half court rule to 8 seconds and disallow zone defenses. That will quicken the pace and hopefully get rid of these 50-45 games. Boring!!!!! I long for the days when teams played full court basketball and actually shot the ball more than 40 times a game. People don’t pay good money to watch this type of action and the results are in the box office nation wide.

When are they gonna enact the Gottlieb rule? If the defensive team fouls a player who does not possess the ball and is at least 15 feet away from the ball the fouled team gets two free throws and the ball and gets to pick the player on their team to shoot the free shots.

How about no timeouts the last 2 minutes of each half. No dunking inside the foul line. 6 personal fouls. 2 officials. 2 points per foul shot instead of 1. Raise the goal to 12 ft.
Do away with the “walking” violation. Instant replay on intentional fouls before auto ejection so the right player gets thrown out. Overtime with no timeouts.

the rule i would like to see changed is the alternate possession rule. if the defense ties up the offense, they should get the ball.

I am OK with the coaches review, but it will slow the game down further. They need to cut back on coaches timeouts and (never happen) media timeouts. Also, i think their should be some effort to speed up free throws. Everyone just suanters over to the lane and it takes forever.
