The game gives coaches a look at the players in game format. They take it very seriously, and the significance is pointed to see all tangilbles of conditioning and effort by players in a game atmosphere. The starters generally get pulled early to protect and also to look closely at what the others have to offer. Walkons will surprise us, like Dominique Whaley. It's also a reward to those who work as hard to prepare as anyone. No one ever knows what will happen during any given season or who will get the opportunity to show their stuff. Really, this is a game to allow all the strut their stuff and it should be fun for all. I pray no more injuries, please!

they split up the seniors into the red and white teams then have them "draft" all the other players (off a white board erasing their names once they've been picked)probably with the first pick going off of a coin flip

The spring game used to be first-team offense/second-team defense vs. second-team offense/first-team defense. Why don't they do it this way anymore? I realize that there several different packages that include what could be considered "second-string" players, but this was true in the past, too. It just meant that other reserves were put into action (or, sometimes, a player would switch jerseys for a little bit).

Just curious. Doesn't matter to me, but is there a method behind the madness of selecting the teams? Do they have like an all-Sooner fantasy draft with the coaches sitting in a war room working deadline trades and deciding between filling needs or selecting the best availables?

You guys are foolish to even care about who wins or who loses, let alone predicting a score. This red-white game has become nothing more than an extra glorified practice for the coaches. It's not a true "intrasquad scrimmage" like it used to be in the past.
