Dear Blake; Thank you so very much for sending a message to Kelly who also lives in Wichita. He came so very close to death with bacterial meningitis and was in St. Francis ICU for 2 weeks. He's still serious, but home. Eyes are still swollen shut but can open them with his fingers and that is what he did to watch you play Friday, even with his vision blurry he watched you. You have no idea how much your message meant to him. That is the first thing he told me when I went into his room. He couldn't see, but his wife Lori, read it to him and tears came out of his swollen eyes. He really was speechless. God bless you greatly for doing that. I truly hope you get this message so you know how many lives you have touched.

Hang in there, Blake. Your time will come - you never know when the coach will give the nod - look at what happened to Sammy B or Colt M. Hopefully, you don't start your career at OU under those circumstances - even Jason White got on the field because of injury to Nate Hybl.

A year of understudy as the backup will help jump start your career immensely. Sammy B only needed 2 years, Cam Newton maybe 1 year. You're young - take some time to learn all you can. You've got some great coaches around you. Soak in the college experience.

You have a great opportunity to win a couple of national titles with the upcoming freshman class and this year's freshman and sophomore classes. Can't wait to see you play! You'll be "the beast!"
