As a Sooner alum, I remember Boise State and WVU. Folks said the same about them not belonging in the bowl game.

It is kind of hard to justify spending a bunch of money to go watch a BCS matchup like this. I think OSU would have probably drawn a pretty good crowd to this game due to never being in a BCS game. I think the Fiesta Bowl was pretty much in a no win situation this year with the Big XII being down so much and the fact that Uconn made it.

They should rename this game the snore bowl. Norman high would be a better team and draw more fans than UCONN. But Sooners should be real happy, Especially Stoops. Sooners can post another Bowl game win.

The overall problem with the Bowl system is there are WAY TOO MANY bowl games…The kids in their early 20′s don’t remember anything less than 25 or so bowls…I remember when there were only 11 bowl games and the teams that went we no where near 6-6…you would very seldom see a team that lost four times in a bowl game…I say get rid of all these lower tier bowls and stop rewarding teams with 4 or more losses with an extra game and vacation time…

Maybe you didnt read the article correctly…Any unsold tickets that are allotted to each team are already paid for either by the school (in UConn’s case) or by the conference (OU’s case) so no matter what the bowl game will have sold AT LEAST half the seats in the stadium even if the tickets aren’t actually sold to fans.

A goal line fumble kept WVU from beating UCONN. Wouldn’t that be nice? A WVU vs OU rematch? LOL The 3 TD under-dog would smack around the Big 12 again.
