Games like this happen. OU is a young team. They have shown talent, potential and vulnerabilities all year. They made uncharacteristic mistakes on kick coverage and turnovers and coupled it with another poor 4th quarter. The Sooners looked like they missed Ronnell Lewis on kickoffs. DeJuan Miller was lost for the year midweek and Ryan Broyles was playing on a bum ankle. It came down to trenches and Missouri was simply better on this go around.

OU is only going to get better. The best RB on the team just started playing. OU is still in good position to win the division and with improvement and a pro-OU crowd in Arlington, the Sooners have a good shot at revenge if Missouri gets past Nebraska. The South Division is a mess.

Everyone now loves Auburn. Same Auburn team that should have lost at home to Clemson. 3 wins by a FG. They barely leave their stadium this year and they have major defensive issues. Sound familiar?

kept going over and over the math in my head and wondering why in the world Stoops would call for 2 instead of one to keep it to a 1 score game. this horrific call took the fire out of the Sooner team. could he of been trying to go for the win instead of a possible tie-breaker? i guess when you think you’re the no 1 team, you can do anything. do the math next time Stoops and don’t penalize your players. Wake up and get out of shock.

Let me spell it out this way. If the OU vs Iowa State game had been played in Iowa the Sooners win would have probably been closer to a 24-17 seven point win instead of the 52-0 shutout romp that it was in Norman. And if Saturdays game at Mizzou would have been played instead at Norman, OU probably would have won in the area of a 45-17 score.

Under Stoops the Sooners are nite and day when compaired to home and away. The difference is crazy drastic and I can’t think of any other team in the country that comes close to the gap of quality of play at home vs away from home.

No big surprise here. Bob Stupid is in his 12th year at Oklahoma and it has been the same story since day one. His teams nearly always (99.9999999%) play horrible away from Norman. (The only exception might be the Red River game in Dallas where Stoops has almost matched Mack Brown at doing less with more.) This is a broken record really though. Stoops teams at OU have a track record of playing poorly when on the road and in 12 years there has been no fix. Even when they do win on the road it is usually very ugly.

As much as this staff gets paid they really aren’t earning it. Poor preperation, mediocore scheming/game planning, zero in game adjustments, pathetic coaching desisions/game management, and poor special teams (btw Stoops ought to fire the special teams coach. Oops, he would have to fire himsellf).

How do u go for 2 only down by 9 with 6 minutes left? If u fail which u so predicatably did, now it’s a 2 possesion game instead of 1. Why do u try an onside kick with 6 minutes left? And because of your stupid choice to go for and fail the 2 point try, how can u punt with 2 min left in a game in which u now need 2 sores…with ZERO time outs left?

THIS IS CRAP COACHING. Good thing u came on like gangbusters when u first got to Oklahoma and secured your job and pay because if you were to put this crap on the field without the security blanket of your 1 National Championship, I’m positive that they would have run you off much like they did Gibbs.

This staff is a great recuiting staff but only a mediocore coaching staff.

FINCH is an awesome back. honestly, i dont care if Murray has seniority. If we would have run Finch last nite 25 times, we probably would have won no problemo. DeMarco has been a great OU back, but doesnt have the explosiveness and the moves that Roy Finch apparently has – it will be exciting to watch him as a Sooner. And how did old Roy get Quentin Griffin’s number – no problem for me – I think Roy will be great.

But Bobby Stoops, you make so much freakin money, and you dont always earn it, my friend. I am tired of the big game blues. You are NOT motivating your players enough. And the 4th quarter petering out aint good. It used to be in the Barry Switzer era that because we were so run-dependent, that we werent good at coming back from deficits (of course we werent behind alot), but now that we are such a big passing team, we should be able to come back with more authority.
Granted, Landry’s only a sophomore.

Look, Missouri was the better team by a sliver in Columbia, we will CRUSH them in the dome in Texas for the B12 Champ if they beat nebraska. (and i hope they do) I am already sick of watching Bo Pelini chompin on that gum.

No disrespect to Missouri, but that was a pitiful game by the Sooners. For years they have missed tackle after missed tackle on defense. Can you not as a coach teach funtamentals of tackling? Landry has the touch of a troll, he was standing ten yards from a receiver and threw a bullet at him. The interception that stopped a scoring drive required a little touch of which he has not displayed the ability to do. I would rather loose with players that want to play than win with players that simply show up.

Kevin Wilson sucked so bad at coordinating the the offense that even a high school football team could have beaten his predictable play calling. Kevin and Bob got too cute with the play calling that they thought they had a Heisman QB who could make all of the completions. So they spent more time throwing the ball against the Tigers instead of running Finch. Landy Jones is a joke at QB, Small Game Bob is a joke at game management, Kevin Wilson is a joke in big games, Venables needs to teach his players how to tackle with out leading with their helmets and trying to rip the ball out all of the time. Bob needs to take a pay cut until he can prove to be worth paying that kind of money for a guy who flops on some of the biggest stages.

What we really need is a good defensive coordinator. The defense has not been consistent since Mike Stoops left. You win championships with defense. Bob needs to let Venables go. Even the TV analists said it did not look like the secondary knew where to line up.

Kevin Wilson needs to go! There’s no surprise to the play calling…Murry run, pass play, Murry run, Murry run…geez any team that they are playing can catch on to that! They have incredible talent but the play calling is crap. Onside kick with 6 1/2 minutes to go…really? Just STUPID!!
