UCLA was able to capitalize on the times when the Texas D was misaligned and any other success they had came running it straight at Texas. Oklahoma will not be able to do that. The Texas D is not huge up front, but Oklahoma hasn't been able to run at will for years. They couldn't run block for Peterson when he was there. Even two years ago when Oklahoma had "the best line in the country" the run game was largely set up by a nearly unstoppable passing game. I don't care how improved this Oklahoma O-Line is, they had 5 downs to push it in from the one against Idaho State last year and couldn't do it. If you wanted to create the perfect defense to stop Oklahoma's offense, it would look a lot like the Texas Defense. The Texas Defense will easily be the best unit on the field on Saturday, and they may be the highest scoring unit as well. A team like Alabama might run rough-shod over the Texas D, but I'm afraid Oklahoma is going to barrel straight into the teeth of Texas' greatest strength.

Also, Bruin106. If the team you follow gets beat 35-0 at home, then you don't go around asking for respect. You take whatever respect anyone gives you and thank them for their time. Next season you can start asking for respect again. You especially don't ask the fans of a team that just won a bowl game over the exact team that handed out that 35-0 loss. (Admittedly, Luck didn't play, but Oklahoma dominated that game statistically and Stanford had to get several breaks to make it a 4 point game.) Did UCLA start pumping up Oklahoma as soon as this year's Stanford game was over? Besides, there's not a lot to suggest that Texas was ever much more than a pretty good team. Last year they had a 3 point win over what was effectively a JV team from Oklahoma, and they beat a decent, but not great Nebraska team by 1. The one and only win Texas has had over the last 3 seasons that could really be termed impressive was the 10 point win over Oklahoma in 2008. Texas' bowl win over Ohio State left anyone who was paying attention more sure than ever that the better team, if not the right team, had won the BigXII tie breaker. Outside of the 2008 Oklahoma game, exactly what has Texas done as a team to command respect. Their defense could be perfectly engineered to ruin Oklahoma's Saturday, but their offense was a one trick pony under Colt McCoy, and now it's a no trick pony.

Yeah, the Chow and Neuheisel spent a lot of time in the off season with Nevada coach Chris Ault. This was no " week of the game " thing, though they could've been saving a play or two for UT.

I did watch the game. I saw the UT defense confused and out of position. The one QB run , where he went 35 yds untouched, was a very well designed option play. The QB was not a great runner or passer, the scheme made it work.

UT will be very familiar with OU's offense. This is going to be athlete on athlete.

You should try watching the game before you write a review. UCLA DOMINATED the line of scrimmage in the third and 4th quarter.

Also UCLA only scored 10 points off of turnovers. Again, watch the game.

UCLA Bruin fan going for Texas. If Texas beats you guys Then will you guys give UCLA credit? Or would you guys be considered overrated. Just wondering what we gotta do to earn our respect as an up and coming program. Good luck next week Sooners!

This article is Dead-On. Well done. I hope our D can produce some of those turnovers. A well timed (and positioned) turnover can really take the pressure off the offense.
