G Tavaris Jeffries arrested

Oklahoma senior guard Tavaris Jeffries was arrested last weekend on a complaint of domestic abuse.

A Norman police report shows he was booked on Sept. 3 at 8:15 p.m..

Jeffries was formally charged today by the state with a misdemeanor count of assault and battery domestic abuse.

Jeffries, who started three games last year, has yet to appear on the two-deep this season after being overtaken by freshmen Gabe Ikard and Bronson Irwin on the depth chart during the spring.

hmmm, sad. apparently needs help.

These misdemeanor charges are starting to mount at both OU and OSU, as well as other D-1 schools. College football is getting to be such big business that it has gotten away from the college nature of the “game”. Time to re-evaluate and get back to the original values of competition and good sportsmanship, as well as the student athlete. It can still be a good game, without the thugs. Will happen at some point in the future.
