Sooners on the verge of 800 all-time victories

If Bob Stoops and the Sooners defeat Utah State today, OU would become the seventh team in NCAA Division I football to amass 800 all-time wins. The other six teams?

Michigan, Texas, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Ohio State and Penn State. Here’s the full list.

Bob Stoops had this to say about the possibility of reaching 800 wins:

“It would be great. It would be special. Everyone recognizes us as one of the more special schools in college football when you look at our tradition and history. Not just the past few years, but when you go back decades there aren’t many like it. We’re excited to be here, as a team, and proud to be part of that history and tradition and hope to keep adding to it.”

So here’s a question for you all. How many more victories will Oklahoma have with Bob Stoops as the head coach?

And in case you were wondering, Oklahoma State has 509 career victories.

Bob, the people of Oklahoma and the University Alumni Association really deserve better. A narrow victory against Utah State? Come on, what are you and your staff doing these days? Last year was one of the worst years in history and the university hasn’t won a national championship since 2000. If you aren’t up to the job, let someone else step in and lead the Sooners. Sorry to be so negative but I’m tired of seeing my Sooners struggle when they should be winning by wider margins.

James, you do not understand what you have in Bob Stoops. Do you remember the fall from grace after you got rid of Gary Gibbs? I bet you’d have loved a 9-win season during the John Blake era. Stoops is a great coach and one day, he’ll leave and you’ll wish he hadn’t.
On another note, why is the blogger linking to a Wikepedia post? Didn’t they teach you in journalism school that Wikepedia is not a reliable source?
