I think its Win, Win. By Patton saying it is accepting fault. Should motivate Trent and make him work much harder then everyone is happy, or the truth shall reveal it’s ugly head.

“No comment” would have worked just fine.

Schmidt didn’t have to make his comments public. He’s angry that someone who didn’t follow his training regimen got drafted #4. This isn’t anything about making sure that the Skins know about Trent’s work ethic. This is a middle-aged man with a short-guy’s complex getting payback on someone who didn’t do it his way.

Why blame the strength coach. Trent williams only did 20 reps with 225 at the combine. Okung did 37. When I was 40 yrs old I did 20 reps with that weight. Obviously he hasn’t put the time in the weight room. Should the strength coach say thank you for not working hard.

Jerry Schmidt is a public-relations disaster for the Sooner program. He behaves like a jackarse on the sidelines, drives off good players who get crosswise with him (and apparently it doesn’t take much to do that), belittles other players for things he doesn’t seem to understand, like sickle-cell anemia, and now he publicly runs his mouth about a player who just got drafter #4.

Trent Williams didn’t work as hard as he could have. OK. He also didn’t go pro after his junior year, as he also could have. And then OU’s O-line would have REALLY been terrible in ’09. Why does Schmidt criticize Trent for the one thing, but has no word of thanks for the other?

So, the Redskins draft an O Line version of Malcolm Kelly.

Trent should watch closely what is about to happen to Malcolm as a result of Malcolm’s less than gung-ho attitude towards preparation and the game in general.

This isn’t news. Still Schmidt has no business talking critically to the paper about a former.

Kevin Wilson said it everytime a lineman got hurt last season. Trent was the est he ever coached but still had not approached his potential because he was not a hard worker.

My overall thought is why is a player who does not pay the price, still get to play? Kind-of goes against Stoops reputation and image. I have to beilieve he did what he needed to do to start. A little confused, Rick
