LB Corey Nelson says he’ll be an Aggie

Despite reports, 4-star outside linebacker Corey Nelson (Dallas Skyline High School) says he remains committed to Texas A&M and will sign with the Aggies.

Nelson told TexAgs.com via text, “I’m not committed to OU and I will remain an Aggie. It’s my future. Report that please. Tell everyone I’m through with recruiting and I will remain at A&M. It’s my future.”

Thursday night, OUInsider.com reported that Nelson had committed to OU. It’s unclear if Nelson temporarily changed his mind or never changed his commitment in the first place.

Despite being committed to A&M for months, Nelson took an official visit to Norman last weekend. The Sooners were confident enough in their chances that defensive coordinator Brent Venables followed that up with an in-home visit.

But Nelson apparently has decided to stick with the Aggies, though this one may not be over until he signs on the dotted line Wednesday.

Nelson is rated the No. 12 outside linebacker in the country by Rivals.com.

* In other news, Texas picked up a pair of 5-star verbals Friday. The first was defensive end Jackson Jeffcoat, who announced he would be signing with Texas over OU and Houston.

Later in the day, West Chester Lakota West (Ohio) linebacker Jordan Hicks, the No. 1 outside linebacker in the country, also revealed he had committed to Texas over Ohio State and Florida.

I think we can still do plenty with the class we have. Seems that UT doesn’t always turn all of their talent successfully as history shows.

history shows the talent has beaten OU an awful lot lately

We have PLENTY of big time talent in Norman to get done what we want to get done. All of you naysayers, just watch as we whip Texas’ ass nest year. FYI our 2010 class is top 5 in every tout service and was #1 for quite some time before Florida and Texas came on strong in the end. Watch out next year for Brennan Clay, Roy Finch, Tony Jefferson, and Kenny Stills to make an immediate impact. BOOMER!

This keeps getting better, ou get’s punked by Texas and Texas A&M!!!!

Texas wins the recruiting battle every year, yet Stoops holds a 6-4 edge in the won/loss column.

Personally, I’m more comfortable with the guys that commit early on. It says something about character. These guys that string it along for all of the attention and then hold a press conference to announce right before signing day rarely live up to the hype. The best Sooners of the Stoops era have been team guys, not me guys. Plus, I think people get too caught up in recruit rankings. Scout will have a guy at 5 stars while Rivals has him at 4 stars and he may or may not be in the ESPN 150. When it gets right down to it, you have to recruit the guys that fit your team regardless of what some recruiting service rates them at.

Comment to B: History shows that OU has been beaten a lot this last year due to about 15 injuries. Some being All-Americans and one Heisman Trophy winner. Think that might have played a factor in last year’s record?

Don’t look now but I think Stoops believes ha has the best recruiting class ever. I believe he is right. I still believe we will end up with 30 recruits, but look at the skill players he’s brought in this year. He arguably, collectively, has recruited the best offensive line prospects in the country.

Some Texass fans have a short memory last year OU got the top player in the whole freakin state of Texas: McFarland, AND THE YEAR BEFORE RJ wASHINGTON. bOOMER!

I love hearing OU pretend that they are keeping up with Texas! We now excel in all popular sports! Say all you want til the game next October -then disappear into the sunset with all your excuses! Let’s see-who would I rather play for-Mack Brown or Bob “big game” Stupid? Which city would I rather be in-Austin or “cosmopolitan” norman? where would I rather have a degree from-well at least ou requires a high school degree. Now your players have the credentials to work at the local car dealership-you know the one…the one that gives cars to the players! Keep dreaming and we will keep booming the sooners!

So what. Texass gets top recruits every year and have two Big Twelve championships and one NC to prove that five stars don’t always when you the big games.

Wow, I can’t spell win.

Mack Brown had to suck on Saban’s pair after the NC loss.

Sue Haines, I wouldn’t be talking. Texass short horns provide curb service for judges when they get into trouble so as not to be put in jail or kicked off the team.

with Corey Nelson staying with the aggies it helps them out alot and dont be surprised if there ranked next year with 2 good backs a good qb wide reciever and a good recruit class and von miller

dont be surprised if the aggies r ranked next year with a good recruit class, good qb, 2 good backs, and Von Miller!!!!!

Sorry Sooners – you’re not even the second best team in the Big 12 now. That honor goes to Nebraska.. So get over yourself and get ready for another butt kicking…

Texas fans can say what they want but truth be known, Oklahoma would have beaten them this year with a healthy team. You did good Texas by winning by 3.

Texas has always managed to get the best athletes money can buy. Off-season is always entertaining in Austin, however felony arrests of players were down this year despite the economy.

Hey SpongeBob Piggy Bank-We understand you can’t spell “win”-you went to ou and you now know how to spell “loss!” LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HA! Look where Nelson ended up?!?!?! Not A&M like you idiot Texans thought!! That’s what you get for thinking you were so smart morons! How is the whiner McCoy doing? Still not ahead of Bradford in the draft huh?

Ok we know you okies don’t have the same brain power as most…concentrate on this word LouSERS…that is the definition of someone that goes to ou. McCoy is great-poor thing… can you not read the nespapers either?! I think the Green Eyed Monster has hit Norman!
