Kevin Wilson is predictable, he seems to make NO adjustments in the second half when things were bad in the 1st half, I say let him go,
I agree totally with everthing Dave said.
Fred, you are doing alot of speculating and what ifs concerning Stoops, bottom line is, Switzer had 3 national titles in a 10 or 11 year span! Stoops has 1...........nuff said.

Bud was award his National Championships BEFORE the bowl game (He lost to Kentucky in 1950, and didn't have to play in one in 1955 I think because the NCAA Rules at the time didn't allow a team to play in back to back bowls). Switzer lost his share of big games too (Arkansas 1977, Nebraska 1978, Washington 1984, Miami 1987) that kept him from playing for or winning a national title. Stoops in less time has at least played for more than either Switzer or Bud. Now, you can't honestly say they deserved to play against LSU for getting smacked around by KSU in 2003, but they made it, and if White was healthy, probably win it going away. USC was an aberration and they had plenty of chance to win against Florida but misblocks and bad pass choices kept them from winning the game. Wilson didn't help, but his Clapp makes a block and Sam doesn't throw a bad pass its 17 or 21 to 7 at halftime.

So while I think some staff adjustments are necessary, you don't fire a coach who plays by the rules, consistently wins a lot more than he loses. NO one in the Big 12 can touch him record wise. He is extremely loyal almost to a fault, but in the end it's the players have to make plays. If Keith Jackson holds on to the ball in the Orange Bowl vs Miami, OU maybe could have gone on to score the winning touchdown. But we'll never know since he fumbled...

It is very apparent that the Big 12 has become so glued to the pure spread, we are actually weaker on both sides of the ball than we realized. Look what Alabama did to UT. 50 yards passing and hundreds of yards running. I am not advocating a return to the wishbone but with two quality backs in the backfield at the same time, both who pick up 100 yards or more rushing each game, coupled with an aggressive passing attack, now that is Oklahoma football. Wilson is too predictable and is influenced too much by bad reads by Stoops and the offensive coaching staff. He is like Jason Garrett of the Cowboys. We need to let Wilson go and bring home Leach and Mangino. Mangino understands the run and pass and of course, Leach disdains the run but seems to know how to motivate an under talented set of receivers and QBs (Landry is pathetic after one season under the current scheme). He is also brilliant in the passing attack arena.

In short, we need to shift the offense quickly. Stoops' time is running out. He is behind the national championship curve when compared to Wilkinson and Switzer. The Sooner faithful are demanding immediate action. Wilson is not the answer. Big Game Bob needs to listen to the fans base now. Let Wilson go. Remember Bob, “the history of Oklahoma is winning championships. Anything less is unacceptable.” I believe that those were your words following the 2000 national championship game, yes?
