Bradford’s stock just went up
Now, there are two.
Monday, Washington QB Jake Locker announced he’s coming back to school for his senior season.
Good news for Sam Bradford.
Now, Bradford just has to deal with Notre Dame’s Jimmy Clausen to be the top QB prospect in the 2010 NFL Draft.
In his most recent Big Board, ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper had Locker surging ahead of Bradford. Locker’s big arm and quick feet had many scouts intrigued.
But now, Bradford just has to outshine Clausen. Unless complications emerge from his shoulder surgery, or Arkansas QB Ryan Mallet decides to throw his hat in the mix and give up his last 2 years of eligibility, Locker’s decision to stay almost ensures that Bradford will be a lock to go in the Top 15. Maybe now even the Top 10.

I would think if Sam’s shoulder is okay–then he ‘ll go before Clausen in the draft. Sam’s intelligence, calm, maturity, team intangibles, field vision and overall football smarts will grade very high with NFL people. I think Ryan Mallett would be more appealing than Jimmy Clausen…if Mallett decide to leave Arkansas.

How does a QB’s stock go up when in college he couldn’t make a play with
his feet and if you hit him very hard, or he was out for 2-3 games. I know
all the guru’s are saying he’s a top 2-3 pick, and the DOu is propping him
at #1, but they are trying to sell papers. Don’t be suprised to see him go
lower. The draft is this spring, lots could happen before then. Remember,
these are the same guys that had OU #3 and returning to the NC game.
How can one say that he never made any plays with his feet? The last time I checked, he did a pretty good number with his feet against OSU last. His precision and accuracy will put him into the top 10 in the draft, especially with the number of pro teams needing a solid QB. Good luck, Slingin’ Sam!

What are you talking about, top 15. If Bradfords arm is OK he should go as the number 2 pick in the draft.
