New OU Nike unis leaked
As first reported by The Oklahoman, OU will don Nike combat uniforms for its game at Texas Tech in two weeks. Apparently, someone found out what those uniforms will look like and leaked them onto the Internet.

They are fine for the one game experiment. I prefer more conservative, plus they are essentially the throwbacks used in the 2003 opener – just white jerseys for the road. I would assume they will move to the Combat gear next year but with the current design with SOONERS on the front of the jersey and keep the crimson helmets and paper clip OU logo.
They look almost identical to the throwbacks OU wore for the 2003 opener against UNT (except road colors).

Where’s the “OU” on the side of the helmet? Where’s the “Sooners” across the chest? This looks like a practice uniform. The only ‘combat’ I have with this uniform is combatting the urge to laugh.
Is “Nike” trying to do to OU what they’ve done to those “Ducks”up north, make us a laughing stock in college football?…change didn’t work for Schnellenburger and it won’t work here!!
The uniforms they have are timeless and hope this is a one time deal. We are one of a few teams that have basic unis and I like it that way. If it aint broke don’t fix it!!!
If the picture looks anything like what will be revealed next Saturday in Lubbuck, the new Nike uniform has no class and is just plain ugly. Where is the double red stripe along the pants, “Sooners” across the chest, and OU logo on the helmet?
It ain’t the uni that makes them a winner, it’s the person wearing it. This
has to be either a joke or an opinion poll. This uniform looks more like
the road uni from the ’50′s, same helmet colors with a wider stripe, similar
arm band stripping. The only thing that will be missing is a player to wear them that can play Wilkinson style winning football. Thats what makes a
good uni.

Honestly, those are awful. Especially when compared to what Nike dished out for TCU’s new “combat” uniforms. This has nothing on that.
What really makes me laugh, though, is that Oregon must be pissed off at all the love Nike is giving to all of these other schools. Maybe now UO will only get 2 new uniforms a year from Phil Knight and crew. Hopefully, they won’t be highlighter yellow or have wings in the future.
