Here are some questions for ya?

Which college division 1A quaterback has the most wins all time?
Which college division 1A quarterback has thrown 6 interceptions in the last 2 weeks?
Which college division 1A quarterback has the highest single season completion percentage of all time?

And the answers are:

1. Tie between Colt McCoy and David Greene (UGA 2001-2004) 42 wins each…Colt has better percentage with 42-7 vs 42-10
2. Landry Jones
3. Colt McCoy 76.7%

Now let’s take a look at the previous comparison.

QB A: 2294yds – 22 – 12 – 59.2% 133.22 rating -31 rushing yds 0 rushing TD
QB B: 2628yds – 19 – 9 – 72.4% 147.99 rating 164 rushing yds 1 rushing TD
QB C: 1922yds – 15 – 7 – 63.5% 142.55 rating 302 rushing yds 4 rushing TD
QB D: 2862yds – 18 – 8 – 62.4 % 133.03 rating 134 rushing yds 5 rushing TD

Seems like you might want to rethink the claim that Landry Jones should even be considered for All Big 12 honors. Not just because Colt McCoy is around but because of Jones’ own records. Of the 4 QB’s referenced, Jones is most in interceptions, last in completion %, 3rd in QB rating (barely), last in rushing yards, and last in rushing TDs. I will admit that he has thrown the most touchdowns, but I wonder how many he would actually have if he didn’t have a coach that didn’t like to run up the score. If Mack Brown was that way, I wonder what the final score of the Baylor game would be and how many TD’s McCoy would have. But one of his accomplishments that hasn’t been mentioned is this. He led a team that should have been contending for a Big 12 championship and a BCS game to a 6-4 record with a real possibility of finishing the season at 7-5. Let me rush out and get a jersey now (they’re probably on sale!).

No doubt about it, Jones is the real deal. But he really has only been tested in the Texas game by a fairly good Texas defense, and he had a tough time (granted he didn’t exactly get a heck of a lot of help from the rest of the offense). Jones faces his first real test against a top notch Nebraska defense. I think this game will show exactly how good Landry Jones really is.

Thats right, stats don’t lie. ‘Stache has some good numbers for almost 7
games played, when compared to B, C, and D who have played 8 full games.
The numbers he has put up could be a double edge sword, though. He has
had less defensive exposure and OU has little to No rushing game, so
that only leaves the passing game to account for most of the yards and
scoring. But stats don’t lie, and give you a good rule of thumb when all the
tangible’s are considered. Of course the DO could do a comparison of those
4 and chart the amount of rushing yardage, TD’s scored, Sacks. Thats one
of those tangibles I mentioned. Probably got overlooked,…right!
