Recruiting watch: Sooners land verbal
A day after beating Baylor 33-7, Oklahoma picked up a verbal commitment Sunday in offensive tackle Daryl Williams.
The 6-foot-5, 269-pound Williams, out of Corinth (Texas) Lake Dallas High School, chose the Sooners over Missouri.
Williams is rated the No. 45 overall prospect from the state of Texas and OU’s fifth verbal commitment on the offensive line for the class of 2010.

I’m worried were still getting verbales and are at 23 or 24 not sure, but that doesn’t leave much room for the five star players we are recruiting. Does that mean we have given up on all those five stars we are recruiting or do we have more than 25 or more slots to fill. We have only managed two five stars lots of four’s and several two’s and one’s. Question do we still have enough slots left for two or three top commetments? Any one out there know the answer.
After Miss. recruiting class of last year class sizes are now limited to the number of recruits you can bring in per class and OU is near the limit. According to Scout.com OU has 24 verbal. Of the 50 5-star recruits Scout has labeled there are 18 uncommitted and OU is still after 9 of those. Jackson Jeffcoat is the prize that OU really needs to get in my 0pinion along with a 5 star o-lineman which means that the kids OU has rated at the bottom of the recruiting curve would be left out when signing day actually rolls around. Sad in many ways but it happens to kids every year and they are left to find a school with a scholarship to offer.

Another Texan, Imagine that…
