Bob Stoops song
Singer/songwriter Ryan Parker, who has written a ton of funny sports songs over the years (my favorite is Jay Bruce Almighty) has posted an interesting (an unflattering) song about Sooner coach Bob Stoops.

Haha great song, I think Sooner fans should embrace being the Buffalo Bills, accept it…dont digest it…just…take it. There are far worse things.
Ha Ha, demote Wilson to water boy and maybe OU can have above average offensive performances in BCS games to win and all of this goes away. That is if the D plays like they did against Florida.
Why do the cowpuddie fans from Stoolwater always come to OU sites to whine, complain, insult? Instead of supporting a team they gloat over a seldom OU loss? At least OU is there and cowpuddie fans are always talking about next year how they are going to lay it on us.
Oh and how did you fair in your bowl game? How many national championships have you played for or won in football? you are about the pooest sports I have ever seen.
And at least the OSU fans don’t let their life revolve around football or any other sport. People, there are many more important things in life. The song was a joke so laugh a little.
OSU has as many national championships as Sam Bradford, Jason White, Billy Sims, and Steve Owens. It hurts but it’s true.
And OSU has as many as Barry Sanders-football is a team game. Great individual perofmances help, but the game is won or lost as a unit.
Sure, Trotter might never have won any glass balls. But, posting an anti-Sooner song on an OU blog takes some brass balls.
Is the memory of 13 and 0 and a National Championship season with an “inferior” team and a second year coach gone? Replaced by a song from a third tier singer/songwriter bent on selling his “talent” or lack thereof?
Oklahoma 72% Winning percentage ALL Time
(4th ALL TIME, 1st SINCE WWII)
SEVEN (AP) National Chapionships
FORTY Conference Championships
FIVE Heisman Trophy Winners
TWENTY-FOUR Bowl Victories
150 All-Americans (67 consensus)
TWO Maxwell Winners
THREE Walter Camp Winners
FOUR Butkis Winners
FIVE Outland Winners
THREE AP Player of the Year Winners
You freaking Aggies and Longhorns can only dream of these numbers. And Bob Stoops keeps adding to them every year. Eat your freaking hearts out morons.
At least Stoops gets OU to the National Championship games and BCS Bowls!!!!!!!!!!!! How many coaches have his success rate???? Didn’t appreciate the song or the lack of OU pride.
JJ, there is more than one sport. Can you name the other sports OU has won national championships in without having to use Google? If you want a number to dream of, how about 48 team national championships, the fourth most in history. And that’s right, by OSU.
Nobody debates the great success OU has had in football. But you have to admit that the last few years have had some disappointment relative to what could have been.
Hey JJ…..you left off another important statistic in your list of OU accomplisments:
SEVEN Major NCAA Football Infractions….
C’mon man, take the bad with the good. Check your history book and check out how many of those infractions came either directly before or directly after those “national championships”
Cash, what ARE you talking about? I don’t see these posts you reference. You are derogatory about the city of Stillwater and the mascot of the Cowboys (I guess), all while stating that OSU fans “whine, complain, insult” — none of which I can find. So who is the poor sport here?
OU won a baseball National title in 1994-95 somewhere around there. OSU is good in wrestling which hardly any bigtime universitites do and golf.
It would have been funny if the song writer had any talent. I am more than willing to laugh at OU’s misfortune in recent bowl games- It’s all we can do. Here’s to next year, Sooners.
Billy Sims was on the ‘75 title team he reshirted in ‘76. He actually carried the ball a couple of times against Michigan in the Orange Bowl. Jason White technially was on the ‘00 title team, but was redshirting behind Heupel and Hybel. As for Heisman winners, not many have a National Championship with it, and only a few in the same year; Dorsett, Leinart, the Army guys in the 40’s?
Hey Get a grip…We are talking FOOTBALL here. All you guys can do when the subject of football comes up is to point out all of your OTHER accomplishments. They’re nice…but they don’t even compare to OU’s in football.
I never compared any other accomplishments to OU’s in football. My point is that most OU fans know no other sport than football despite being good in many. And when a football championship is lost, they act as if life was over. People, it’s just a game played by 18-22 year olds. Get a grip.
The comparisons to the Buffalo Bills are Stupid.
The Atlata Braves are much more similar.
Bills lost 4 in a row- OU’s losses were not in a row
Bills Never won- OU won in 2000
Braves won first tripp- OU won first tripp
Okay, granted second place again. But how many have been to the title game 4 times in 8 years… And I’d like to see this songwriter go into the Sooner Nation and tell them that they’re second place… The Sooners will ALWAYS BE # 1 to me…
well Osu fans, maybe one day you guys can get to the big 12 championship and win…..I bet a million dollars Ou wins it’s 8th national championship before you guys win a big 12 championship. Sorry to bust your bubble:( owell, you always have basketball! Oh wait we are ranked 5th and you guys arnt…womens basketball? Darn we are ranked 3rd, sucks we are only good at football and that’s all we care about. But I do admit your wrestling team…. Wait darn we beat you at that too, gymnastics? You guys have to be good at something, I’ll google it and get back to you. P.s what’s the difference between Ou students and Osu students? They all applied to Ou hahha! Osu sucks cow poo

Sounds like something that J. Trotter would write.
Wounder how many glass balls the author has?
