Bradford PTI Heisman favorite…
Jay Mariotti, formerly of the Chicago Sun-Times, said Sam Bradford is his Heisman favorite on ESPN’s PTI Monday afternoon.
Bob Ryan, of the Boston Globe, said, “Watch out for Oklahoma.”
Just about everyone, though, agreed USC is the team to beat. As of now, hard to argue with that point.

Seattle columnist: No love for Oklahoma
Steve Kelley, the columnist for the Seattle Times who still hasn’t gotten over the sale of the Sonics, doesn’t have much love for Oklahoma, the Sooners or anything else in the Central time zone.
Enjoy his column here.
Half-a-hundred
Joey Halzle is in the game and Mossis Madu has two touchdowns.
The Sooners have 55 points and look untouchable.
Could they rise in the stands from No. 3 to No. 2? USC is a solid No. 1, but Georgia just beat South Carolina by a TD on Saturday.
Sam Bradford touchdown keeper
Ryan Broyles … wow.
Ryan Broyles is sick.
A 77-yard touchdown run spinning away from about three defenders.
Did the Sooners really need another offensive weapon.
Plus that line.
41-0.
Chris Brown for the score
Things are looking rough in the first quarter, including a blocked PAT.
But Jermaine Gresham scores to make it 13-0.
Why are teams covering him one-on-one with a safety?
OU fans make it to Seattle
O-line too much for Huskies?
The offensive line is chewing up Washington early. It helped the Huskies had a lousy punt to start OU at the 50.
OU sits at 3rd and goal at the 15.
Touchdown. 13-yard touchdown to Juaquin.
Seattle scene
Folks, the weather is beautiful here.
For all the talk about rainy Seattle, our cities seem to have traded place this weekend, with downpours expected back home where most of you are. On the bright side, if you’re like me, it kept you away from the mower for a week.
On the bright side here, the glorious weather predicted throughout the weekend means no weather-induced sloppiness to equalize the talent gap between the Sooners and Huskies.
Should be a great setting (see Jake Trotter’s post with a pic of Husky Stadium on the water) for OU to make a statement about leaving last season’s road struggles behind. And it all comes down to the offense.
When the Sooners struggled a year ago, it was mostly the offense’s sputtering that dragged them down.
Could OU’s new no-huddle approach could be an energizer toward preventing such sluggishness? Playing fast could dictate pace and tempo and get the Sooners going. We’ll see.
Washington is very aware of OU’s offense.

Husky mascot on DL
The Washington canine mascot, Spirit, was placed on the disabled list last week after suffering a recent shoulder injury. According UW, it’s unclear how long the Alaskan Malamute will be unable to perform his duties as Washington’s mascot at Husky football games.
Spirit is reaching the twilight of his career.
The dog was scheduled to retire at the end of this football season. The school expects to announce soon its plans to breed a new mascot.
Stay tuned…
