Seattle columnist: No love for Oklahoma

Steve Kelley, the columnist for the Seattle Times who still hasn’t gotten over the sale of the Sonics, doesn’t have much love for Oklahoma, the Sooners or anything else in the Central time zone.

Not really much of a critical column by the guy. Mostly just fun.

“These states don’t like each other very much”

???

Sounds like a laundry list of gripes that Washington has against us.

Personally, I’ve never given them a second thought.

Go OKC Potatoes!!!

They are just bitter over the Sonics. Before Clay bought them Seattle didn’t even know OKC existed, nor cared about them. (And vice versa.) That or they are tired of losing to teams from Oklahoma.

Is he implying that WSU has not recovered from the loss of Kelvin Sampson? I dont think he has done much research there. They should be glad, just like OU is thankful to Indiana, before Kelvin really screwed up.

I think its a silly column. I’ve never considered Washington a rival of Oklahoma. I never really thought of it that way. I’ve always believed Schultz should have put two and two together…Bennett’s an Okie and Oklahoma City wanted an NBA team, seems like what happened would have happened. That’s maybe a poor business decision. I just see a bit of jealousy in the column. Also, its not a Washington-Oklahoma issue. I think if Bennett had owned another team in another state, we would have had that team eventually. Business is business and football is football. However, you have to admit, it is pretty nice to have both in Oklahoma now.
