It’s hard to get excited about spring practice. It doesn’t seem to matter how exciting the prospects, how talented the team, how exalted the new signees…in the end OU is more than likely to lose a bowl game. Unless Bob Stoops learns how to be relaxed, *really* relaxed, as he prepares and as he coaches in a bowl game, these still-young men will pick up on his uptightness and will themselves get tied up in it. The result will be predictable.

The greatest thing that could come out of OU’s spring practice would be to hear from the players and any other unbiased source that a new Bob Stoops has been spotted, one who remembers that if you train these guys well, then turn them loose (pun intended), they will rise to a new level of swagger and performance.
