Trying to snap a two-game losing streak and pick up its fourth road win of the season, Oklahoma (15-7, 3-4) plays at Colorado (9-13, 1-7) on Saturday at 3 p.m. CST at the Coors Events Center in Boulder. The Sooners, who lost to a pair of ranked teams in the last week (at Texas A&M and versus Texas), stand in a tie with Texas Tech for sixth place in the league race. They are 3-3 on the road this year, with two of those victories coming against top-25 teams at the time. Colorado has lost six straight contests and is in last place in the conference standings. The Buffaloes are coming off a 64-63 road loss to Oklahoma State on Wednesday.
Gymnastics: Horton on TV event
Oklahoma senior Jonathan Horton will be featured Saturday in the Tylenol Skating and Gymnastics Spectacular presented by Chesapeake Energy. The made-for-TV event will air at 1:30 p.m. on NBC. Viewers should check their local listings to confirm times in their area.
Gymnastics: OU men advance in Vegas
Four members of the Oklahoma men’s gymnastics team advanced to Saturday’s finals competition at the 2008 Winter Cup Challenge in Las Vegas, Nev.
Five Sooners (Taqiy Abdullah-Simmons, Jonathan Horton, Ian Jackson, Steven Legendre and Jacob Messina) competed in Thursday’s qualification rounds at the Las Vegas Sports Center. Jackson, a sophomore, finished as the first alternate, narrowly missing a berth in the finals.
