Men’s hoops links

I think Kansas State needs to reorganize the rulebook for its basketball coaches. Rule 1: Don’t drink and drive. Rule 2: Don’t celebrate beating Kansas by drinking and driving. Rule No. 3: If Bob Huggins can abide by these rules for a year, so can you. (I guess the third one really isn’t a rule as much as a standard.) As you read the story, remember that Dalonte Hill’s key qualification to be a college basketball coach is that he is Michael Beasley’s close friend.

The Texas A&M school paper offers its breakdown of Saturday’s game between the Sooners and Aggies. Apparently OU better be ready for a fight.

Rivals.com devised a formula to rank schools’ combined accomplishments in football and men’s basketball. OU ranks No. 1 since 1974. Michigan was second and North Carolina, thanks to three basketball national titles, was third. Texas (No. 10) was the only other Big 12 school in the top 25.

Jeff Goodman of FoxSports.com gives his take on Blake Griffin’s recent injury and return to the court, calling the freshman one of the toughest players in the country. I would disagree if I didn’t fear Blake could kill me with two fingers. As a sidenote for all the Mike Tyson’s Punchout fans out there, when Blake screams, doesn’t he kind of look like King Hippo? I’m working on finding photos to support that, but if it’s accurate, perhaps Blake’s weakness is being punched in the belly.
