Baseball: Season tickets on sale Friday

The University of Oklahoma Athletics Ticket Office announced Thursday that season tickets for the 2008 OU baseball season will go on sale to the public on Friday, Jan. 25. Season tickets may be purchased online at www.soonersports.com or by calling the OU Athletics Ticket Office at 1-800-456-GoOU. The OU Athletics Ticket Office is open from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and is located on the plaza level of the Asp Avenue parking garage.

Recruiting: More on the Julio Jones saga

The Julio Jones sweepstakes keeps getting more and more intense. The Gainesville Sun first reported today that Julio Jones had been recruiting for OU on his Florida visit and got sent home early for it.

Men’s hoops: Bears and Ags go five OTs

Baylor 116, Texas A&M 110, five overtimes.

Think the Bears will be a little tired Saturday when OU visits? I’m tired after just reading the box score. They had four players play at least 42 minutes and Curtis Jerrells played 53.

For your enjoyment (though I recommend a water break halfway through) I’ve attached the list of Big 12 Conference records broken in the five-OT thriller — and I use the word “thriller” loosely. Sure, five overtimes is darn exciting, but there was some ugly basketball being played at Reed Arena Wednesday night, too.

Tennis: Women start season Friday

Track: OU set for trip to Arkansas

The University of Oklahoma indoor track & field team returns to Fayetteville, Ark., for its third meet of 2008, the Razorback Invitational hosted by the University of Arkansas. The two-day event kicks off Friday in Arkansas’ Randal Tyson Complex.
