Wrestling: OU falls to Wisconsin

OU’s wrestling team needed redshirt freshman Nathan Fernandez to knock off No. 13-ranked Kyle Massey in the heavyweight bout to give Oklahoma the win over Wisconsin.

But Massey proved to be too much for the freshman, defeating Fernandez by a final of 4-2 and giving the Badgers (9-2-1) an 18-15 victory over the Sooners.

The loss halted a seven match win streak for the Sooners, now 11-2 on the season.

Tennis: OU sweeps through Illinois State

The University of Oklahoma men’s tennis team picked up where they left off on Saturday as they completed play at the 2007-08 Shocker Invitational.

Gymnastics: OU beats No. 10 Nebraska

The third-ranked Oklahoma men’s gymnastics team claimed its second straight victory over No. 10 Nebraska and Air Force Sunday at the Bob Devaney Center in Lincoln, Neb.  The Sooners scored a 349.700 to beat the second place Huskers (341.400).  Air Force finished third with a 323.650.  Oklahoma defeated both programs en route to a season-opening win at the Rocky Mountain Open, Jan. 12, in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Recruiting: Two key juco commits

The Sooners may have muted the damage of the defections of Curtis Lofton and Reggie Smith to the NFL with a pair of big junior college pickups over the weekend in safety David Sims and linebacker Mike Balogun.
