The calls/noncalls by officials in regards to KU are consistently bad. Against OSU both Withey and Young entered OT with 4 fouls. Neither picked up another foul. Both Cobbins and Smart fouled out. Cobbins on THREE questionable calls Smart on two. Definitely affected the results. ISU game…what an obvious help KU effort that was.

The regular season doesn’t matter. It’s weird that you win a championship for it. The tournament championship is the AQ for March madness and the only actual championship.

I am never one to blame the refs, that is part of the human element of the game. That being said, the officiating at Iowa State last night was horrendous,Iowa State deserved and should have won the game. In the KU win at IBA, Michael Cobbins receieved three fouls for simply putting his arms up, watch the tape. ESPN even talked about the questionable nature of the calls. I have the ultimate respect for KU as a basketball program, and I root for Bill Self for being a son of OSU,they have been difficult enough to beat on equal footing,and they are damn near impossible to beat with the aid of the referees.

Title hopes be dammed, no need to look for that for OSU, or whine over what could have been. We want to look forward to a Sweet 16 berth, or an Elite 8 slot, even the outside chance of a Final Four. Don’t look back. Keep driving forward.

If not already stated, we were in the drivers seat and had a chance to remain there when KU came to GIA. Depending not only ISU but the refs to have done it for us is a sense of entitlement. OSU’s title chances whistled away when they could not finish strong against KU.

If ISU had made both free throws in crunch time it wouldn’t have mattered because KU would have still been down 1 point. Blaming the refs is a cop out. Did the refs do a good job? Absolutely not, but refs don’t win and lose games, players do. Why isn’t anyone mentioning how Elijah Johnson was allowed to shoot when it was obvious it was his night. Double him and make someone else shoot if you have to. Point is, KU madebig plays down the stretch and ISU didn’t make as many.

Refs handed KU another game. They were handed the big 12 title, what a joke. And all I see is KU fans blindly defending it when the whole rest of the world knows how corrupt the big 12 is. KU has a good, not great team and the refs have given them just enough to win over and over.
