Simple truth is OSU can not reach the next level of Division I football without scheduling these type of games. Case you haven’t noticed, there was slippage in the Big 12 this year. Competition continues to be of quality in the Conference, but parity seems to be an advancing trend. With realignment always a concern, Oklahoma State must do everything possible to increase its visibility in the college football landscape. That requires more competitive non-conference scheduling, neutral games away from Stillwater (to obtain those competitive games) and larger payouts.

Boys, if we’re going to win a national championship, we need to beat the FSU’s.

And Gina, that dude of a game with Savannah State was merely a fill-in game because of the lame Mizzou and Texas Aggies screwing up the Big 12 conference schedule.

Cowboy fans buck up or shut up about this game. If you can’t afford to go, then stay home. At least support the Cowboys wherever they go and stop sounding so darn cheap..

At least OSU is not playing in Tallahassee….one of the most hostile environments OU has ever had to play in. So, Jerry World provides what I assume will be a split crowd of 45,000+ or so and a much different environment which should greatly enhance OSU’s chances to win a tight game…IF FSU can reload after losing much of its offensive punch and D coordinator next year making 2014 more interesting.

David has summed up in eleven words why Mike Gundy is at odds with Mike Holder over scheduling. Maybe I don’t need my 4 season tickets to OSU home games….maybe I’ll spend it on a new big screen tv. I know I won’t pay $1,500 to drive to Dallas for a tossup game that hurts our chances to win a NC while every other Big 12 team plays at home against cupcakes.

For those who will consider attending and spending a small fortune for 2 tickets and all the add-ons for a weekend in Dallas, the Florida State fanbase is an excellent one to spend the weekend with. Texas A&M sort of falls in that grouping. Spending that money and being exposed to the high amount of alcohol available, a game which does not kick off until 8 pm, and have say, LSU, Auburn, Arkansas, or the Universe of Arrogance, save yourself the money.

Been to Jerryworld for OU games against BYU and Nebraska, in a week or so, aTm. Unless you are filthy rich, an older guy with a beautiful 20 year younger friend of the opposite gender johnny popcorn is right on the money…go once and take it in for the ambiance although I think the whole atmosphere is a bit sterile. After once, well, if it isn’t a championship or BCS NC scenario, sitting in front of the 61″ HD becomes more attractive.
