It was hard to believe that this offense could be held to so many 3 & out's and unable to put the game away. What was harder to believe was the play calling was clearly allowing Kansas to get back into the game and WE DID NOT ADJUST! If Monken was so determined not to allow Walsh to lose the game perhaps he should have allwed Chelf to win it.

Great comment Tim. I think it's worth noting that under significantly better conditions TCU only won in Lawrence 20 - 6. The play calling was conservative and mechanical but OSU got a sufficient lead and held on to enough of it while grinding out the clock. And did that with one running back, a freshman backup QB and a mostly new receiver corps. The team might not look as good as we fans could wish for but if they had been out there just going through the motions they would have lost this game. Great, great game from Quinn Sharp. Even Dan Bailey wasn't perfect on FGs when he was kicking before at KU's Memorial Stadium. Conditions there for trying to kick a FG can be difficult. It's just going to take an all out effort for this OSU team to win any other Big XII games. At this point, I don't think that should surprise anybody.

Now, Now, lets all catch our breath. Kansas wasn't in the red zone when the game ended. They would have to have gone the length of the field in just over a minute. We had already stopped them on downs the series before. Remember this was a true freshman in his second start. Kansas sold out on the rush and blitzing the pass. A good plan and somewhat effective. The offensive line wasn't at their best but the game wasn't in imminent danger.

The team seemed not to play together and thought that our coaches showed a lack of confidence in the team. Don't believe in firing the coaches as it could have been a combination of factors that made it a bad day for both players and coaches.

Embarrassing is not too strong. We need Lunt back and to get rid of Bill Young. We need a new def coordinator that plays aggressive and doesn't rush 3 and have the other 8 guys covering air (playing zone). Until that happens we will live in mediocrity. The only reason it looked better last year is because the turnovers masked the fact we gave up a ton of yards. FIRE BILL YOUNG!!!

We are lucky, no, very lucky to have won this game. I know, a win is a win, but as soon as Wes Lunt is able he must get back in there. Our running game in this offense only works when the defense has to respect and account for our passing game. That fear opens up the running lanes for the backs. Walsh is actually doing a great job doing what he does, which is hand off, run some, and connect on 25 short passes. Maybe the coaches should let him throw deep more, but I'm guessing they have a reason we kept handing off to Randle and punting.....
