The spread helps level the playing field against bigger teams. In time more SEC teams will start using it and refining it to use it more to their advantage. GA, aTm and MU are not ‘true’ spread Offenses.

That is basically what led to the Big 12 taking on this type of offense. The Big 12/8 was a defense machine, but then the air raid came along and those days are long gone.

Maybe Gundy should look at how those spread offenses did in the SEC last weekend and frankly throughout the year. Georgia got crushed by USC, Mizzou which runs one of those “spreads” can’t stay healthy or get an SEC win, and A&M’s offense has only shown up against the bottom feeder defenses in the SEC, they didn’t look that great against Florida
