Gina, what was your assessment of the penalty calls? The message boards have been very active about it (probably no surprise), but the issue seemed to gain some traction after the O'Colly (OSU school newspaper) article earlier this week. My personal opinion is that there were a few calls that were questionable, but that's really hard to evaluate only watching the TV. Also, it's not like the game turned on one call (there were obviously some serious problems on OSU's end). I'd appreciate your perspective, especially given that you were at the game.

This was a very strange game to watch indeed. From a previous Division 1 athelete's perspective it seemed until very late that O-State was within an eye-lash of taking control of the game. You have to give their Q-back credit on how well he played. Everyone acted as though it was suprising to see him perform at such a high level. When you look at their first game I would agree. But, when you review his past performances in previous years you might question whether the Wildcats have been playing the wrong man at Q-back. Who knows what was called on defense but I believe using our quicker middle linebacker and had someone assigned to mirror him could have helped turn the tide. If Scott continues to play at that level, Arizona will win most of their games. It's doubtful that the better teams will assist with turnovers and penalties as OSU did. And it's doubtful you'll see as much fire power as OSU has except Oregon and USC. That's what is so special about this Cowboy team. They have scarey talent on both sides of the ball. This was probably the best thing to happen to them to have a wake-up call early and lull the rest of the big !2 to sleep. With Young back at the helm on Defense don't be surprised if this OSU team wins out and repeats as Big Twelve Champions. Only time will tell!!
