Not every quarterback who is not a starter leaves the program to play for somewhere else. OSU has a history of those who end up playing other positions.

Recent examples at OSU include Ronnie Williams (lost his position to Mike Gundy). Williams became a wide receiver for OSU, but played in the NFL as a tight end.

And later Donovan Woods was replaced by Bobbie Reid. Woods became a safety for the Cowboys, but he currently plays in the NFL as a linebacker for the Buffalo Bills.

I expect Walsh to make the decision to be used in whatever capacity that makes the team better.

When JW was being recruited, Zac Robinson was the OSU qb, and the offense was built around his mobility and dual-threat skills. That would have been perfect for JW, but the next year Weeden took over and the offensive philosophy completely changed. If JW is not at least thinking about a transfer to a school with an offense that fits him better, he should be, and I'm certain that he will. Whether or not he actually transfers is anyone's guess at this point. Good luck to him whatever he decides.

Walsh is a mature player and well knows that there are setbacks in life. He is NOT out of the picture and Gund well knows he has a lot of potential that if not as a QB in another position. It could well develop that Walsh is used in games that need a strong runner.

OU has three QB's that have been sitting on the bench for a long time. Chances are they will never play except perhaps as a cleanup QB...but they know Stoops hardly ever pulls Landry. I wonder how they felt when Landry decided to stay...and they are still their.

Like it was said...Gundy can not cater to one player he has to go with the best person at each position...no favoritism their.
