I’ve long believed that Mike Gundy’s best attribute has been his ability to hire great assistant coaches. I’m not worried about the day Monken moves up to another job, because I’m confident that Gundy will find a great coach to replace him.

You can’t really blame Monken for leaving (if he does leave), since next season with be at the very least, a reloading year, if not a rebuilding year at OSU. No Weeden, no Blackmon, and no Cooper, plus a couple of significant losses in the O-line. Next season will surely be a challenge for whoever the OC is. A 9-3 season would seem to be a realistic target next year.

As long as Coach Gundy is the head coach the Pokes will be fine. Good luck Coach Monken, whatever you decide, you did a heck of a job coaching our offense this year!
