He was more than an x’s and o’s guy he was a mentor,counselor, motivator, surrogate father and much more. I remember him playing practical jokes, dancing in the office to Salt and Peppa, walking me on the field as my escort for the Homecoming court…so, many memories. One of my favorite memories is of our first team meeting. Coach told us we were good but that we lacked disciplined defense and that it was okay because we would get there and win a National Championship THIS SEASON! True to his word he worked us, encouraged us, kept us on the strait and narrow and by the end of the season we were national champions. My heart goes out to Shelly and the kids. They are in my prayers.
