I don’t think his comments are a big deal- this is making something out of nothing. I just think Holgorsen only worked one year under Gundy– He worked a long time under Leach and several years under Sumlin that is all.
As to Houston thing- first year OSU went to Houston we had an average team– next year OSU beat the dog out of Houston in Stillwater. following year Dez got hurt during game- Hunter couldn’t play was banged up– next!

I think less of Holgorson after reading this story. He’s too smart and experienced for the omission of Gundy to have been an oversight. Coach Gundy and his staff have shone a lot of class by refraining from commenting on Holgorson’s recent gaff.

El Prez, Gundy paid his dues a long time ago. Besides that being put out of the way, Gundy is the best thing OSU has had in my lifetime of nearly 60 years. He is OSU through and through, is not looking to bolt in the first instance someone offers more jack, and OSU football is his labor of love. I am very happy OSU has such a coach…finally. As an OU fan, it is nice to have the OSU coach building something which can win on its own, not just run his mouth like his predecessor who was a total complete jerk.

El prez-that is downright hilarious it is so delusional. No matter, Gundy will just keep on winning more and more games and competing for championships while you keep your head buried in the sand.

If you read between the lines it’s very clear what Holgorsen is saying..namely that Mike Gundy is a puppet coach tied to the strings of Mike Holder–whose strings are tied directly to Boone Pickens. He’s saying that other coaches throughout the nation have to pay their coaching dues to ascend to a BCS head coaching job…and bascially Gundy didn’t. Perhaps, what he’s also saying is that the Universal Third Rule of Coaching does not apply to Mike Gundy with the Holder-Pickens dynamics set firmly in place. I could care less either way, but I think this is what he was trying to say.

Gundy is better off without him in the long run. I am an OU grad and fan, but Gundy is conducting himself in the gentlemanly way here. He has never spoken about Holgorsen in a derogatory manner. He has replaced this former coach with another good coach and my gut tells me Gundy, being the type of person he is, just watched and absorbed what was ongoing last year. Gundy was a pretty darn good offensive coach before the arrival of Dana Holgorsen. Now, that he is gone, good luck, and yes, I am glad you did not blow up in Stillwater…I am pretty sure Gundy believes ditto.

Since when does Sports Editor Mike Sherman post on the Cowboys blog???? Does he enjoy stirring drama that does not reflect especially well on OSU?

Please leave the OSU blogging and reporting to Brandon and John, Mike. They do a great job.

Ummm, sounds to me like holgy is buddies with the two coaches he named and Gundy was his boss who did not like the way holgy stayed out partying and not coming to morning staff meetings. Love that OSU brought him in to supercharge the offense and hope they can retain it. Not sorry that the square peg has moved on, and wish him all the best.
