A continuing example of how Mike Holder is maintaining his immense popularity with the little people. Our (as someone who has only missed 2 games in Stillwater since 1965, I can say “our”) athletic administration continues to show total disregard for everyone and everything except the bank account. It is all about the paycheck. It’s sure no accident that this announcement was not made until the day that season ticket renewals and sales to donors closed. All the big dogs and those in town can attend with no problem, but what about the rest of the state and those in surrounding states. You would think that O-State is past the need for odd-ball game days and times. With one of these Thursday specials each year, maybe we should start a “Thurday Night League” and play all our games on Thursday. I’m sure Tulsa, Troy, maybe a WAC school or two and all the directional schools in LA and TX would be interested.

We have short work week with Labor Day already. You can’t make it to game unless you take off at least day & half, unless you have T Boone’s plane. AZ is one of best home games on schedule & they mess it up by having on Thurs. Let us play La Laf on a Thur.. It would be nice to know these special dates before we committ to tickets.

You can’t do the exact same thing for every home game, it’s good to change things up. Thursday nights have been good testing grounds for new ideas and potential traditions. Black jerseys, armed services parachuting, America-shaped flags, directed rounds of Orange Power, and other really awesome things have all come out of Thursday nights in Stillwater!

People say that the stands are not as full, but they were for A&M, and we weren’t even ranked at that time. Also, the best pre-game OSU has ever done was for the Colorado game 2 years ago, and frankly, OSU pre-games usually kind of suck–but occasionally they put together a really good one. Why couldn’t OSU try new things out and put together good pre-games on Saturday? No idea, but it’s obvious that they’re more willing to do that on Thursday, so let them have it then.
