Chris:
I'm not a playoff proponent, so maybe I'm biased. But no reasonable, practical playoff system would include OSU more than once in 20 or 30 years. A reasonable playoff would have 8 teams at most. How often does OSU finish the regular season ranked #8 or better? Or win the conference championship? A team would have to do one or both of those to be included in a playoff. No, you need to hope the bowl system continues for a long, long time. The bowl system benefits OSU, because OSU's fans travel well, and the bowls like that. OSU has several times gotten picked ahead of teams with better records but with fans who don't travel as well, like Missouri.

Brad,
I agree with Nick, if you can't sell out your home stadium in the biggest game of your program's history, why would they think you would sell out Jerryworld for a bowl game?

thanks kiojtg,
The chances of Penn State are slim. They are likely headed to the Outback or Gator Bowl. Michigan seems to be the most likely Big Ten opponent.

It's all about $$'s and fan support. A&M will sell out Jerryworld.

We beat a&m, have a better record than a&m, are ranked higher than a&m in every poll, and have the most explosive and exciting offense in the big12, why anyone would pick a&m ahead of us is beyond me.

This whole mess of bowls picking teams is ridiculous. Bring on a playoff system and get rid of these biased games picking teams for reasons other than their on field performance. No other sport allows money to choose who plays who and where. Insane.
