The Bedlam game most likely will boil down to how the teams come out play...hot or cold...and to how the defenses play. Both offenses we know can score points...and fast. We know Oklahoma can pass and "sort of" run. We know the Cowboys secondary plays back but tackles in space well. And, has the speed and strength to shut down the run. We know that the Cowboys can both pass and run. We know Sooners have a pretty good defense. So all things being equal this should be a tight game.

The answer to you question about whether next week's Bedlam game is the most important in program history is absolutely YES! A chance to win the Big 12 South outright, to play in the CCG against Nebraska, maybe play in a BCS bowl, and with a team that, for a change, goes into Bedlam not just HOPING to win, but EXPECTING to win. None of those things have ever happened before, even remotely. Even in 1984, when OSU had a top 5 ranking when they played OU, they were still a clear underdog, and they lost. This is the best chance OSU has ever had to make a statement that they have arrived on the national scene as a program.

This is the same team that was picked in the pre-season to finish fifth in the Big 12 South because it was to be a rebuilding year? It's hard to imagine anything that could be sweeter than getting win number 11 against OU next week.
