Chance– I think OSU’s offense struggled to find momentum early in the third quarter and that completely took them out of their rhythm because Nebraska scored, and kept the ball for a while, on its first two possessions of the second half. I also think they should have gotten Blackmon involved more in the second half even though he was facing bracket coverage (essentially double coverage).

Tim–Let’s just say I don’t think Blackmon would hesitate to return to “Amukamara Island” he could have built a home there… he won that battle without question, they just stopped looking his way.

Hootie–I don’t anticipate him moving to the slot, it’s too far along in the season and I know Dana stresses the importance of reps in this offense and I don’t think Randle could make up the lost reps at slot. I think they’ll just put him and Hunter in the same backfield to use both players’ talents.

Great job, once AGAIN Brandon! What are your thught or do you know if there has been any more talks of using Randle more in the slot position. Having him, Hunter and Blackmon as an option simultaneously would throw defenses for a whirl!

Give us your grade for how Blackmon did against Prince Amukamara? Blackmon was bracketed a lot but what about the rest of the time. Appeared to me that Blackmon had the upper hand but maybe his catches weren’t against Prince?

Great analysis Brandon, I always enjoy your Thoughts and Observations. It is nice to see a bullet list that is easy to read and simply laying out what went right and wrong for OSU.

Do you think Nebraska’s D figured out the offense, or you think the offense just happens to work in spurts?

The shock of our first lost seems to feel not so bad since OU lost too.

Who would of predicted that a Big 12 North team was going to stay un-defeated this far and Baylor was going to be in the race for the South.

Thanks for the post-mortem, Brandon. I hope they will do what Nebraska obviously did from their loss to Texas – resolve to do better, regroup, and outplay their next opponent – and on from there! A very successful season (especially for a “rebuilding year”) is still within reach. But it would be nice to cash in, finally, on one of those “statement games” opportunities and do it pretty soon!!!
