Former Oklahoma State quarterback Zac Robinson has been released by the New England Patriots, according to The Boston Herald.
Robinson was a seventh round draft pick by New England, and The Boston Herald mentions it’s possible Robinson will be signed to the Patriots’ practice squad.
Are you surprised by his release? Will he catch on somewhere else in the NFL if the Patriots decide not to bring him back?
Robinson finished his career at Oklahoma State with 8,317 passing yards and 66 touchdown passes.

Well listen, OSU has done a poor job recruiting QB’s in the past. I suppose maybe it’s that tail-back U label to some extent that has been a deterrent in attracting quality QB’s to OSU. Don’t get me wrong, Mike Gundy and Zac Robinson were both outstanding QB’s at OSU, but neither was NFL material. Josh Fields possibly could have made an NFL roster, definitely Brandon Weeden will have an opportunity. Let’s face it, OSU has only had two NFL caliber QB’s in the history of it’s program. Rusty Hilger and now Brandon Weeden. Why you ask? Well they are both 6’4″ and have cannons for arms. Weeden I believe is a bit more accurate than Hilger, but you see where I’m going with this. OU hasn’t faired much better, albeit they ran the wishbone for many years. I mean everyone loved Zac Robinson at OSU as a dual threat QB, but that just doesn’t cut it in the NFL. They want the guys with the big arms who can see over the top of linemen. Weeden has a lot of Big Ben in him. He’s definite NFL material, hopefully later and not sooner.

i dont think they should of release zack robinson? they need to give him chance at qb ?? then hoyer ?
