		<description><![CDATA[John:  glad to see Garrett hit in #56, but saddened by his team&#039;s loss.  Now we have to wait till Feb, 2011.  Interestingly, Kevin Pillar of Cal. State Dominguez Hills set a new Div. III record this year, hitting safely in 54 straight.  While doing a little Googling, I came across this:  Kayla Braud from Eugene, OR, hit safely in 103 consecutive games.  Granted, high school softball is a long way from, well, college softball, but 103 is a mighty impressive number.  She just hit .505 as a freshman at Alabama, more than .140 points better than her closest teammate.]]></description>
