There are changes galore on Oklahoma State’s spring roster. Here are a couple of the noteworthy changes:
- Former tight ends Wilson Youman and Cooper Bassett are officially listed at defensive end.
- Linebackers Jordan Barnes and Deron Fontenot along with running back Taylor Sokolosky are not listed on OSU’s official spring roster.
- Cornerback Andrew McGee, whose status was unclear after a neck injury late last season, remains listed on the official roster.
- Former fullback David Paulsen, a sophomore, is listed as an inside receiver.
- Newcomer Joe Mitchell, who was expected to play safety, is listed as James Thomas’ backup at linebacker.
- Redshirt freshman Anthony Rogers is listed as a defensive tackle. He was listed at both defensive end and defensive tackle during his redshirt season.
- Lane Taylor, the Pokes lone returning starter on the offensive line, is listed as OSU’s starting center.
- Former Bixby standout Jared Glover has returned to the squad after injuries forced him to leave the team during his first couple of years on campus. He’s listed as a junior defensive end.
- Former tight ends coach Doug Meachem is now the inside receivers coach.
- Linebacker Orie Lemon and safety Victor Johnson are both expected back for fall camp. Their status for the spring is unclear.
There are also several number changes on the roster:
- QB Brandon Weeden from No. 4 to No. 3
- WR Colton Chelf from No. 31 to No. 83
- DE Jared Glover from No. 51 to No. 96
- CB Andrae May from No. 18 to No. 16
- RB Jeremy Smith from No. 36 to No. 31
- DE Cooper Bassett from No. 89 to No. 80

Mike,
I think it is mainly a “pay your dues” type thing. There are guys ahead of him who have been in the program longer. I wouldn’t read too much into it. I would be shocked if he’s not one of OSU’s top receiving threats (if healthy) this season.
I believe these changes may have been done sooner, if not for some matters within the team. This is going to make this team better.

Brandon, why isn’t Michael Harrison in the 2 deep among receivers?
