Oklahoma State post practice impressions

STILLWATER — Today was the first day of full pads for the Oklahoma State football team. Here are my impressions:
- We didn’t get the chance to watch the guys hit, so it’s tough to say I learned more today than I did yesterday.
- Zac Robinson didn’t have full pads on because of a slight pull of a leg muscle. My thoughts: It doesn’t matter! Zac was walking without a noticeable limp and seemed in good spirits. He even threw around a bit. I think they’re being cautious with him and they should be. Not to mention… What can they possibly learn about Zac this early in preseason that they don’t already know. As long as this doesn’t linger, it’s no big deal.
- I just love watching Dez. He practices hard, competes hard. It’s easy to see why he’s an All-American and sure NFL 1st round pick.
- I like what I see from Clint Chelf. He seems perfect for the Cowboys offense but don’t expect him to play any time soon, when I asked Coach Gundy about Chelf after practice, he said he doubts he’ll battle for the No. 2 quarterback slot because it’s too tough to learn the offense this quickly.
- Former Union WR Tracy Moore continues to impress. His exceptional body control, great hands and general feel for getting open is uncanny. I wouldn’t be surprised if he saw some time as a freshman, especially in third down situations. He just seems to have a knack for getting open.
