ESPN recruiting rankings are out, OSU is No. 10
ESPN.com put out its recruiting rankings today, and the Kentucky-topped list has OSU at No. 10. Here’s the link:

Obviously this is good news and great press for OSU, and Travis Ford’s seven-man recruiting class is impressive. But one thing to keep in mind is that the rankings don’t appear to take into account who will actually be arriving and eligible once fall comes. The last time I checked in with Ford both Karron Johnson and Jarred Shaw seemed to be in doubt for at least the fall semester. Without those two guys OSU’s class is still talented, but much less well-rounded and much, much smaller.

Yes, there is more than a tendency at the Sooner Oklahoman to temper all good Cowboy news with strong negatives: I’ve been around here since 1970, and it’s been going on at least that long. I have gotten so frustrated and irritated at the pro OWho reporting that I have actually cancelled my subscription.
The DOK constantly downplays cowboy achievements, it’s always been that way and it most likely always will be. Maybe perhaps because of the Gaylords?
It really doesn’t matter what level of recruits they get, or what teams they field, they always will be ‘the aggies’

Andrea,
Is there a requirement at the DOK to always temper any positive news about OSU with a negative caveat?
