A bit of football recruiting news

By Scott Wright

Oklahoma State could know a week from today whether it has a quarterback commitment for the 2009 recruiting class.

San Antonio QB Drew Allen told RebelSports.com that he plans to announce his intentions next Monday.

Right now, Allen says Ole Miss is the leader, with Oklahoma State second, ahead of Oklahoma (which only recently made an offer), Purdue and Vanderbilt. Interestingly, OSU already lost one football recruit to Ole Miss in Clayton Moore.

If the Cowboys miss out on Allen, the prospect list starts to get a little thin at an important position for OSU in the 2009 class.

OSU reportedly has an offer extended to Cody Green, a 6-foot-4 Dayton, Texas, product, according to Scout.com. After Green, the Pokes might start looking closer at guys like Kolby Gray, Kenneth Guiton (both from Houston) or even Norman North’s Tyler Tettleton.

And there’s still some hope that four-star recruit Tyrik Rollison might keep his interest in the Cowboys, but that situation will likey take some time to develop. According to multiple recruiting services, Rollison does not have an official scholarship offer from OSU.
