The last four football seasons, I’ve spent a fair amount of time on Monday mornings listening to our writers try to devise ways to write another story about Robert Griffin III. When he was a freshman, I thought John Rohde and a couple other were going to arm-wrestle over it.
And now, for a confession: At one point I seem to remember saying something like, “Enough Robert Griffin stories!” Silly me.
On Saturday he was honored as college football’s best player, and Monday night he poked fun at himself, the Heisman Trophy and Tim Tebow on the Late Show with David Letterman. Funny stuff, including Letterman’s saying Griffin was the winner of the “1911 Heisman Trophy.” Watch.
