You’re absolutely right about the move to Landover. That was Jack Kent Cooke’s decision. I’ve made the fix in the blog. Thanks for pointing that out. Crazy fact: There are two NFL teams in Maryland (the Ravens and Redskins), none in New York (the Giants and the Jets play in New Jersey) and none in Los Angeles.

Selfishly, I like the idea of Bradford playing for the Redskins. The Oklahoman, as you know, has a two-man Washington bureau, both of whom have a deep knowledge of the Redskins. If I could talk them into to covering Sam’s home games, and we caught him every trip to Jerry’s World in Arlington, we’d have nine of his games staffed most years. I doubt we’d get that many covered in St. Louis.

Jack Kent Cooke actually moved the Redskins out of DC, to a soulless stadium in Landover, Maryland. The Skins have been mediocre to terrible since. Maybe a coincidence. Maybe a curse (Snyder’s ownership certainly hasn’t helped). I admire Bradford and would love to be able to see him play live, but the Skins have been such a mess for so long that you have to think the franchise is just dysfunctional and Bradford could be damaged by it.
On the bright side, maybe he could actually make Malcolm Kelly into an NFL receiver.

I was born and raised in Oklahoma and now live in the Dallas area. I was always a big Washington Redskin fan all my life, so yes I can easily stomach Sam Bradford being a Redskin!!

Living in Washington people here don’t really covet Sam-I do I hope we get him, they are all ready working on the O-line here, if we don’t get Sam hopefully Russel Okung comes here. Redskins won’t be down for long. Sam will be under much pressure here, I think he will prove the naysayers(Doc Walker) wrong…Boomer! and Go REDSKINS!
