You’re correct. There’s no way of knowing whether he would have been injured if he’d been here. And anyone who was drafting No. 1 would have taken him. There were plenty of us in the sports department who spent time speculating about what the Thunder would have to trade to get the No. 1 pick from the Clippers. But Blake’s initial injury was diagnosed as a stress fracture, which can be a freak injury or can be a result of the cumulative stress on his knee cap over time. I can’t remember ever seeing a guy that big who could jump that high. You’ve got to wonder how much toll that took.

BUT.. there’s no way i’d regret having Blake Griffin had we had a chance at him.. if he was here, who’s to say that he would’ve gotten injured? that was a freak deal.. that’s like saying that if i broke my arm while on vacation in Dallas, if i would’ve just stayed home, i would’ve still broken my arm that weekend..

i’m a huge Thunder fan but was still looking forward to seeing Blake play.. here’s hoping to a full recovery and a long, successful career..
